Erma Tranter is an urban planner and recognized expert in parks and open spaces. For 34 years she was the President and Executive Director of Friends of the Parks, a Chicago park advocacy organization. In 2005, she published her first cookbook, Feast for Friends, and in 2014, published a second titled Abbondanza! She lives in Chicago and is a consultant on park development and open space protection.
