The main advantages of Saphire Stacked dielectric resonator antennas (SSDRA) are listed below: The DRAs are characterized by a smaller form factor primarily when the material selected for design has a high dielectric constant. Since a conducting material is absent the SSDRAs have a high efficiency of radiation when the material chosen has low dielectric loss. This feature makes it suitable for applications in the frequency range of 30 GHz to 300 GHz. It will have large impedance bandwidth when the resonator dimensions and dielectric constant of the material are selected properly. It can be excited using distinct techniques which is helpful for various applications and also for integrating the arrays. Various design techniques can be used for controlling the gain, bandwidth, and polarization characteristics of a DRA The main aim of the study is to design a rectangular dielectric resonator antenna where the dielectric resonator is made of sapphire. The objectives of the study are: To design a rectangular dielectric resonator antenna; To use a sapphire material for the DRA; To test the designed rectangular DRA for C-band applications; To conduct a comparative analysis of the result
