Autorenporträt

Eminent Odia poet Binod Chandra Nayak was born on September 2, 1919 at Telipalli, Sundargarh. He taught English Literature in various colleges before retiring as principal of Laxminarayana College, Jharsuguda, in 1978. His poetry collections include Haimanti, Chandra O Tara, Nila Chandrara Upatyaka, Nandadevi, Sata Tarara Dipa, Ilabrutta, Sarisrupa, Pohala Dwipara Upakatha. His awards include Sahitya Akademi Award (1970) for Sarisrupa, Atibadi Jagannath Das Samman (2000) and an honorary D.Litt. degree from Sambalpur University. He died on November 15, 2003.
