Dr. David D. Alfery was a cardiothoracic anesthesiologist in private practice in Nashville, Tennessee, for thirty-six years, where he was also an adjunct associate professor of anesthesiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He has authored ten chapters in anesthesia textbooks and forty peer reviewed medical articles, served as a chief of anesthesia in one of Nashville's premier hospitals, is a past president of the Tennessee Society of Anesthesiologists, and has invented four anesthesia devices that have been sold worldwide.
