Autorenporträt
United States Air Force Falcon Air Force Base was renamed to Schriever Air Force Base on June 5, 1998 in honor of retired General Bernard A. Schriever, who pioneered the development of the nation's ballistic missile programs and is recognized as "the father of the U.S. Air Force's space and missile program." Schriever Air Force Base (AFB) is home to more than 7,700 military and civilian employees. The base indirectly contributes an estimated $1 billion to the local Colorado Springs, Colorado, area annually.
