SCIENCE IN NURSING This work was undertaken to facilitate the teaching and learning for student nurses enrolled in human bioscience and pathophysiology subjects as part of their nursing studies. These subjects have a long history of proving difficult for many students which may be exacerbated by non traditional entry to university study and the element of tension that exists between practising nurses and biomedical science. Yet nursing, as do other health related fields of practice, relies upon scientific understanding of health for optimal practice. Taking the time to study in depth the nurses' and students' historical relationship with science and through talking, surveys and focus groups with working Registered Nurses a better understanding can be achieved to facilitate student success. 427 pages.
