Scientific cooperation in Brazil in the field of Information Science is the subject of this study, and in order to measure collaboration in science the study was carried out on the production of articles in scientific journals with Qualis A1: Perspectives in Information Science, Information & Society: studies and TransInformation, from 2010 to 2014. Quantitative methods were used for subsequent qualitative analysis. Bibliometric methods assessed the bibliographic production of the articles to identify authorship, as well as additional information on the author, country of origin, type of authorship; whether the author is a researcher or student; and the institution they were affiliated with during the period of the published article. And the Social Network Analysis (SNA) method structured the quantitative results to map the co-authorship and scientific collaboration networks. The use of attributes helped to define and identify the characteristics studied: first author, regions ofBrazil that stood out in publications and the shared authorship relationships in each publication, and the authors' institutions.
