Vick was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, but grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. In 1989 he moved to Hilton Head, South Carolina. In 1991 while in high school, Scott''s first contact with professional wrestling first took place. Scott was approached by a talent scout with World Championship Wrestling (WCW). In that meeting Scott was offered a chance to start training after high School; Scott declined so he could continue to follow his dreams of playing in college and later the NFL. In 1992, Scott was a South Carolina All-State and Parade All-American. He also a member as one of the top 100 high school players in the nation . He is a graduate of Hilton Head High School.
