Since the end of the 1970s, retirement has been associated with a haven of peace, putting an end to professional constraints. However, a feeling of uncertainty about the standard of living and the amount of the pension prevails today. This concern is reflected in an awareness of the importance of anticipating retirement. Over the last ten years, pension reforms have been increasing. All of them have been necessary, but in the end have proved insufficient to preserve the current pay-as-you-go pension system. Thus, despite the efforts made by the public authorities, the majority of French people believe that the current system will only have a reduced role, gradually replaced by a personal savings system. Under these circumstances, how can the French individual receive additional income in order to finance his or her retirement?
