Tyler Geis was born in Rochester, New York, and grew up in Mascoutah, Illinois. He recently graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor's in psychology, and additional minors in trombone music performance and criminology. A trombonist since elementary school, he was a member of UK's Symphony Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Wildcat Marching Band. His father introduced him to Stephen King when he was in middle school, and he hasn't been a normal human being since. He lives in Lexington, Kentucky with his basset hound, Velma. "Scyphozoa" is his first novel.
