The sucking pests of carnation are thrips (Thrips florum and Thrips hawaiiensis), aphids (Rhopalosiphum maidis), mites (Tetranychus urticae) and their predators are green lacewingbug, ladybird beetle, parasitoid wasp, syrphid flies and spider. The incidence of the thrips population (3.80 and 22.20 thrips/leaf and flower) was at peak during May and July months. While, the incidence of aphids was at peak during July month (5.53 and 6.06 aphids/leaf and flower). The incidence of mite (46.26 and 64.33 mites/leaf and flower) was at peak during June month. Monitoring through sticky traps noticed that maximum mean catches of 46.72 and 15.91 thrips and aphids/trap during the month of July. There was positive correlation between population of sucking pests with temperature but negative correlation with RH. The acetamiprid 20% SP + Nimbecidine 0.03% treatment was found effective against thrips (86.92 and 87.66% in leaves and flowers) and aphids (87.89 and 89.01% in leaves and flowers). With respect to mites, Propargite 57% EC was found effective (85.92 and 81.13% in leaves and flowers). Benefit Cost Ratio was worked out highest in Acetamiprid 20% SP + Nimbecidine 0.03% (1:1.88).
