The book is intended for use by snow researchers. An important topic; high resolution SnowMicroPen is introduced on an elementary level, which enables even relatively unprepared researchers to gain an insight into the subject. The work is motivated by two practical problems: First, the reproduction of snow pack using a point model approach, and second, snow pack validation using unbiased techniques. The primary objective of this work is to broaden the general knowledge base of these problems. The work is therefore divided into three domains viz. fundamental work (snow grain growth, bond growth, vapour diffusivity and thermal conductivity); practical work (field experiments, data assortment and laboratory experiments) and applied work (snow pack modelling and snow characterization through statistical models). Researchers will find it more interesting without compromising with the level or coverage of the book.
