Autorenporträt
Darlene Crowell was born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey. As the third of six children, the passing of her mother at the age of nine or ten was devastating and contributed to a succession of trials and tribulations that caused her to write about her pain and suffering on countless scattered sheets of paper. She had some fun times, but there were situations she faced that were very difficult, emotionally draining, and sometimes physically distressful. These were the curses that became blessings. It was through those writings as well as her love of the poetry of Langston Hughes and others that inspired her to write.
