All other forms of energy (crude oil, water power, nuclear fuel, etc.) must be transformed into more suitable forms (derivatives of oil, electricity, water vapor), which requires the construction and maintenance of an energy transformation plant such as thermal power plants, heating plants, refineries, etc. The total gas trade (1,134.1 bcm) during 2017 was 740.7 bcm and 393.4 bcm by ship (LNG), which is an increase by 3.7% (714.4 bcm) , or 10.3% (356.7 bcm).The largest gross gas exporters are Russia, Qatar and Norway. The largest LNG exporters are Qatar, Australia, Malaysia and Nigeria .
