This book deals with study of Seed Protein Profiling through Electrophoresis in Pea. Pea (Pisum sativum.L) is important pulse crop in India with advancement and development of hundreds of improved new varieties and introduction of intellectual property rights (IPR), it is necessary identifying them individually for identification and registration purposes. For its purpose necessity of quick, reliable and reproducible laboratory techniques are required. Advances in genome sequencing have changed the scope of scientific inquiry for the biological sciences. Entire genome sequences can now be determined rapidly, providing researchers with the raw data that encode all proteins produced by an organism. One can now devise experiments to discover the structures, functions, and interactions of these proteins on a cellular or organismal level that previously was not possible. Scientists in a wide range of fields including structural biology, functional genomics, and drug discovery are poised to benefit greatly from these advances. This exciting opportunity has brought with it new challenges because proteins do not behave in a uniform and predictable manner as do their DNA counterparts.
