Judith Keene, Ph.D. (1986), University of California, San Diego is an Associate Professor at the University of Sydney. Her research focuses on the cultural history of twentieth century war, including art and cinema and the formation of individual and collective memory. Elizabeth Rechniewski, Ph.D. (1990), University of Sydney, is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney. She has published widely on remembrance of twentieth century war and colonial war in Australia, France and New Caledonia, including the commemoration of indigenous soldiers from those counties.
