This work investigates and analyzes the perspectives of five African American teachers who taught in the Yazoo City Public School District, Yazoo City, Mississippi, during segregation, integration, and resegregation. They provide insight on White Flight, its synergistic relationship with the public education system and the marginalized communities in which they exist. More importantly, this work aims to detail the themes and factors surrounding an increase of student success in today's resegregated schools by gaining a holistic view of the ramifications of the educational conditions during segregation, desegregation, and present day resegregation.
