Conventional seismic hazard assessment methods can be difficult to apply in regions in which the location of active faults could not be delineated with good precision due to the nature of the geological settings. Site modification effects are also often not well represented to fully take into account local conditions of both the rock crusts and the overlying soil sediments. This monograph demonstrates an alternative, and much more effective, method of ground motion modelling and seismic hazard assessment which is particularly suited to applications in regions of low-to-moderate seismicity.
