The Indus Offshore is one of the two parts of Pakistan Offshore, developed as a result of sedimentary deposition associated with the Himalayan uplift. Two main structural zones shape Offshore Indus; the Indus Platform zone to the East and the Indus Depression to the West. This book covers both zones. Offshore Indus basin contains a thick sedimentary sequence ranging from Cretaceous to Recent. Seismic profiles of this region indicate gentle-to-steep dipping structures and down to the basin type normal faults. Hydrocarbon exploration has been done for many years in the past but a break-through has yet to be made. Several techniques have been employed in this study, which are either directly linked to the Exploration of Hydrocarbons or these simply address the uncertainties and risk minimization, generally involved in exploration efforts. Seismic Sequence Stratigraphy is one such technique that has been utilized to sketch the subsurface the area. Seismic and well logs data has been used for this purpose. The correlative approach used in the current study, proves that the Offshore Indus Basin has enough potential for Hydrocarbon exploration and should be exploited fully.
