During my training in M.Med Pathology, I noticed inadequacies in materials needed for guiding students in providing scientific evidence for medico legal purposes. In this book, I have selected five most important areas responsible for the cause of sudden and unexplained death and conducted in-depth review of literature to come up with a book to fill this gap. Each chapter describes the pathogenesis, the pathology and autopsy findings in the following conditions: Heroin related death, sudden death in HIV/AIDS, sudden death in malaria, pedestrian fatalities and molecular basis of cardiomyopathies. And it is a common saying that it is only the dead who know the truth surrounding their death. In the recent past, there have been several media reports of unexplained deaths with controversies especially following administration of heroin. Reports of healthy young adults collapsing dead is also on the increase, Road Traffic Accidents are on the rise world over with several pedestrian fatalities likewise Malaria. It is therefore a must read book for medical students, students of pathology and forensic medicine, academicians, media practitioners and the legal fraternity.
