Luis Miguel Aguilar was born in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico in 1956. His books include Medio de Construcción; Chetumal Bay Anthology; Cuentos y Relatos Norteamericanos del Siglo XX; La Democracia de los Muertos; Todo lo que sé; Suerte con las Mujeres; and Nadie Puede Escribir un Libro. Aguilar is also the author of Fábulas de Ovidio, a modern version of Ovid's Metamorphosis.From 1995 to 2004, Aguilar was the director of the magazine Nexos. He is a columnist for Milenio.In 2010, Luis Miguel received Mexico's PEN Prize for Literary Excellence.
