The book discusses the relevance of using suitable sowing media in raising ornamental plants for better seedling establishment and growth. Three sowing media (i. e. top soil, top soil mixed with poultry manure and top soil mixed with sawdust in the ratio of 2:1) were used to raise three ornamental plants (Bougainvillea glabra, Ixora coccinea and Rosa chinensis). Gibberellic acid as a growth hormone was used in three different concentrations (0, 100 and 200ppm)to influence better seedling establishment. The result indicated that Bougainvillea glabra, top soil mixed with sawdust and gibberellic acid at 100ppm concentration proved to have performed better among the three plants, sowing media and gibberellic acid concentrations respectively.
