Ante a problemática deste adoecimento crônico e as possibilidades de cuidado da enfermagem objetivou-se: conhecer as práticas de autocuidado desenvolvidas por pessoas com Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2 acompanhadas em um serviço de atenção secundária de saúde e suas implicações para o cuidado clínico e educativo da enfermagem. Este material trata-se de estudo descritivo e transversal realizado em serviço de atenção secundária em Fortaleza-CE-Brasil.
