Adherence, ¿2 (1, N = 190) = 63.340, p = .000, OR = 81.714; self-monitoring blood glucose, ¿2 (1, N = 190) = 40.464, p = .000, OR = 27.427; and lifestyle modification, ¿2 (1, N = 190) = 31.656, p = .000 OR = 68.545 had significant influence on management of type 2 diabetic mellitus. Adherence, ¿2 (1, N = 190) = 17.884, p = .000, OR = 12.269 and lifestyle modification, ¿2 (1, N = 190) = 6.313 p = .000, OR = 9.590 were significant in combination. The study concludes that self-care strategy is an effective strategy for management of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
