The nature of these emotions involves awareness of others and self-evaluations which are susceptible to social influence. Therefore, cultural insight gains importance, as well. This book contains both theoretical background and empirical studies about self conscious emotions. The ultimate purpose of these studies presented in this book is to uncover the relationships between psychopathological symptoms and self-conscious emotions by examining individual differences in terms of deviation from the common ground while benefiting from nonverbal cues for recognition of these emotions. Findings of the study are explained in a culture-specific point of view.
Autorenporträt
¿rem Motan obtained her psychology education at Middle East Technical University, Ankara where she got her PhD in 2007. Her graduate study had been about self conscious emotions and psychopathology. Upon completing her PhD in Clinical Psychology she moved to Germany where she has been specializing in Psychodynamic psychotherapy.
