Self-Disclosure focuses on the effects of gender, psychological gender, and individualism/collectivism on self-disclosure to significant others. More specifically, this book addresses self-disclosure to one's mother, father, best female and male friends and romantic partner. Further, it conjectures that there would be gender, psychological gender and individualism-collectivism differences in the levels of self-disclosure. The findings, dissimilar from the Western literature, are explained in terms of the differences in Turkish family dynamics, and gender socialization.
