This important volume offers a comprehensive overview of new approaches to health-related behavior from a self-regulation perspective.

It outlines assumptions on which self-regulation theories are based, discusses recent research and draws out the implications for practice with a particular focus on changing health behavior. social influences
the nature of health goals
health risk behavior
unintentional behavior
maintaining self-control
frustrations in goal striving
maintaining health behavior change.
