Cultural-rological reflection on the basis of semantic interpretation of artifacts, documents, ideology and other nationalist subcultures of Russia allowed to reveal the causes, content and values of nationalism, its features and types. Xenophobia and forms of its manifestation in interethnic relations were analyzed in details. The work shows some ways of overcoming interethnic conflicts with the help of practice of intercultural communications. Special attention is paid to tolerance, the meaning of which is revealed through religious philosophy and historical and cultural experience of Russia. Tolerance and dialogue of cultures are studied in close interrelation with conceptual ideas of cultural ecology.
