Autorenporträt

M. Jeanne Skvarla was born in Austin, Texas and grew up in Norman, Oklahoma. She studied English Literature and Philosophy at Oklahoma State University, and later earned her M.F.A. in Poetry from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She has worked as a pizza shop manager, paramedic, accountant, English teacher, farrier, editor, DNA lab autoclave operator and botanical micrographer at various places in Oklahoma, New England and Western New York. She is an active member of the Poetry Society of Virginia, and her poems have appeared in such journals as College English, Rattle, and Poetry East. She currently lives in Virginia Beach, VA. This is her first collection of poetry.
