This work proposes to make the analysis of the passion of the pity in the collection of short stories The Seven Sorrows by William Aristide Nassidia Combary. It is based on preoccupations that refer to the semiotics of passions, in particular to those concerning the discourse of the states of mind of the various pathic subjects present in the collection. This new field of research of the semiotics of the sensitive is articulated mainly around the analysis and the setting in discourse of the texts and by ricochet any object of study comprising of the affect within it. The collection of short stories The Seven Sorrows constitutes the narration of various stories that affect the lives of the characters, within the framework of the passions and especially pity, according to its aspectual forms, pity-compassion and pity-disdain. This analysis is thus based on the post-Greimasian semiotics. It is a question, on the one hand, of highlighting the passion of pity present in the various short stories, of proceeding to the description of this passion and, on the other hand, of highlighting its process of putting it into discourse in order to arrive at the configurations and representations of passion in the texts.
