In an ore production chain, stockyard operations, especially the recovery of ore piles, play a key role for linking the processing and transportation processes. With this purpose, this dissertation proposes the sequencing of ore piles to be reclaimed through the adaptation of heuristics brought by the literature. Firstly, a sequencing heuristic is proposed for the resumption of ore piles (understood as tasks to be sequenced) in their respective yards through the application of a pile prioritization index (PI). Such index is based on relevant factors for stockyard operations, such as reclaimer capacity, quality and residence time of the ore and travel time between stockpiles (setup). The second heuristic proposed, ATCSM (Apparent Tardiness Cost with Setups for mineral recovery), modifies the ATCS (Apparent Tardiness Cost with Setups) dispatch rule aiming at its application in the retaking of ore stockpiles in stockyards.
