Autorenporträt
The author's inspiration for "Andre, the Five-Star Cat," came from the true story of Heliot, a real cat once living in a five-star hotel on Rue Cambon in Paris, France. The author was a guest at Heliot's hotel home in 2017. She noticed that the Chartreux cat was spoiled and seemed bored of all the attention he was getting from hotel guests. In this story, Alma imagines how Heliot's life may be changed for the better if he was temporarily removed from such posh surroundings and given the opportunity to help himself and others.Alma Hammond is the author of several award-winning books by Sweetbeet Books. These books, mostly inspired by travel, educate children of animals and places and promote positive messages of self-esteem. Alma is an American author from Bethesda, MD. She currently lives with her husband Bob and two cats, Violet and Daisy, in a tiny medieval village in the south of France, called Valbonne.
