Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection among pregnant women attending antenatal clinic in Barau Dikko teaching Hospital Kaduna was evaluated. Papillomaviruses are double-stranded DNA viruses that constitute the Papillomavirus genus of the Papillomaviridae family. These viruses are highly species specific and infect only humans. The study was aimed at determining the prevalence of HPV infection and the level of anti HPV-IgG antibody in pregnant women. The sampled subjects were eighty one (81) pregnant women attending antenatal clinic in Barau Dikko teaching hospital Kaduna. The sample size was determined by standard statistical formula with confidence level at 95% and margin of error at 5% respectively (Ramachandran, 2012). This assessment is essential for effective planning of HPV vaccine implementation into preventive and monitoring programmes.
