Autorenporträt
Ron Schaper grew up in the family fishing business, Sunrise Fish Company. As a boy, he was always messing around in boats. Teenage years found him in the ocean on the pound boat, on the island helping mend nets and equipment, then working ashore in the wholesale and retail operations. After college, Ron followed his love of the sea by going sailing. Numerous passages to and from the Caribbean and Bahamas, several trans-Atlantic voyages, sailing trips in the Indian Ocean and French Polynesia, have provided plenty of material for publishing many articles in yachting magazines. As a member of the prestigious Cruising Club of America and Storm Trysail Clubs, he raced in numerous international regattas. Today, Ron and his wife Andrea, race, cruise and charter their Sabre 402 Endurance in South Florida as Captain Ron Yacht Charters.
