All that is needed is to rent hosts to transmit communications without having to pay for all the services. This offers a great deal of independence. As the transport is also done via the computer network, there is no need to set up a telephone network which must be centralized on the same entity. Moreover, by positioning voice as an additional application on IP networks, the company will not only substitute a PSTN operator transport for an IP transport, but will simplify the management of voice, data and video by this single transport. It is important to note that certain inter-station linking functions, necessary in some cases, are not available on the PSTN.
