Seven Screenplays is colossal work that provides a fascinating insight into the artistic process of renowned British filmmaker Jude Rawlins. Along with films themselves it deftly demonstrates the leap from page to screen. Rawlins introduces each screenplay in his inimitable way, and the screenplays themselves sizzle with what Werner Herzog describes as "a fury of language", proving that screenwriting is both a potentially high form of literature as well as a subject which, contrary to popular belief, cannot be taught but only studied.
