Acute pancreatitis is a pathology with high morbimortality. To detect its severity there are several scales whose validation criteria are not yet standardized, so we compared the effectiveness of the APACHE, BISAP scales and in assessing the severity of acute pancreatitis of biliary origin in the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital 2018 - 2019. A validation study of diagnostic tests was performed based on an analysis of 226 clinical histories, the scales (APACHE, BISAP and MARSHALL) were applied, sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value, ROC curve, positive and negative…mehr

A validation study of diagnostic tests was performed based on an analysis of 226 clinical histories, the scales (APACHE, BISAP and MARSHALL) were applied, sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value, ROC curve, positive and negative likelihood ratio were compared. Mean age was 52.8, female gender 59.7%, mestizo ethnicity 88.1% and low socioeconomic stratum 52.2%. Mild pancreatitis was more frequent (69.5%) than moderate (21.2%) and severe (9.3%). It was concluded that the APACHE II, BISAP and MODIFIED MARSHALL scales showed similar predictive accuracy in determining the severity of acute pancreatitis.
