Akemi Shibata is one of Japan's leading quilt designers. Known for her unique "Elegant de Kawaii," or "Elegant and Lovely" style, she is the author of several books, including Quilted Bags & Gifts. She owns a quilt shop and holds workshops and lectures in Japan and abroad.
