Training of employees in garment production is generally provided by in-service training methods. Through these trainings, employees increase their skills and become more competent in their work. It is known that increasing the ability to do work affects both production quality and production efficiency. In this study, a sewing operator (machinist) training program has been developed in order to reduce the defects of sewing operators who is working in a garment company and increase their productivity. While preparing the program, first of all, 5 of the operations that affect the quality in the selected garment model were determined and it was aimed to increase the competencies of the sewing operator in these operations. First of all, theoretical trainings have been established about these operations and then it has planned to carry out practical training based on repetition. In practical training, steps to be followed for each operation were specified, points to be considered when performing the operation were specified and the operation sheets were created. As a measurement tool in the training program; checklists and sewing operator training level determination test were applied.
