Produktbeschreibung
This unique book provides a contemporary account of how health psychologists can educate and support parents and their children in open communication of sexual matters. Although schools provide sex and relationship education (SRE) parents also have a vital role to play in educating their children. Barriers and facilitators were identified which can affect open communication of sexual matters within the family environment. This is coupled with the importance of using information technology to educate both parents and their children, which was found to affect confidence and increase communication of sexual matters within British families. It has been found that this approach to teaching SRE gives young people not only the knowledge to make informed choices over their personal relationships, but also their sexual behaviour.
