The passion for psychology involved a dilemma: how to do scientific research work geared towards social practicality? Well, because I was studying in one country (on one continent) and working in another, this was a very sensitive issue. As institutional support was constant, it was possible to carry out the curricular internship in Angola. In Angola, the initial bureaucracy was overcome and resolved well. Once again, the support was outstanding. The psychological monitoring of children mentioned in social protection cases and involved in criminal proceedings in the legal system in this country was a novelty that pleased both the magistrates (advisors) and the children and their families. Of all the issues that came to light, sexual abuse seemed quite pertinent given the number of records, the socio-cultural particularities and the legal framework. In addition to this, it is important to note that the work carried out was pioneering. This is the primary reason for its qualitativenature. A practically initial piece of work needs to build concepts, understand the procedures, respect people and the system. Through this reading, you get to know a little more about sexual abuse in this society.
