Although Bhutan falls under low prevalence for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV-AIDS in the region, the STI -HIV/AIDS caseload has been steadily increasing over the years. As per annual health bulletin of the health ministry about 2000 patients receive treatment for STIs cases reported in Bhutan. The most common STIs prevalent in the country are gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV-AIDS and hepatitis-B infections.
