Nowadays, it is very common to see religious leaders, who somehow base their faith on the writings of the Torah, developing philosophies and theologies in order to explain how the divine service should be observed at the same time that they have little, or even zero, knowledge about the what this book really aims to teach. The Book of Leviticus is more current than ever.
