In this poignant collection of haiku and short poems richly enhanced with exquisite botanical illustrations and pen & ink sketches, poet and visual artist ELENI TRAGANAS transports the reader into an intense micro-world of nature's transformative beauty and mystery in its timeless passage through the seasons. With wit, introspection and a focus on the eternal present, SHADED PERGOLA guides devotees of the flora and fauna kingdom on a journey into an evocative literary garden where every poem illustrates a seemingly artless moment in time, from birth through decay, awakening our emotions with surprising lucidity: Haiku in its most pure and classic essence in a realm where nature is illuminated and magnified through the lens of human nature.
