Education in Uganda has gone through a long period of transformation. from the precolonial times to the current system that welcomed private providers of education to the academic arena. Today the government in Uganda takes pole position in providing education services from primary through secondary, vocational, secondary and university levels. There is a noticeable distribution of schools all over the country. Even as this distribution may not be based on need, its none the less a great relief to education thirst that providers attempt to quench! in the midst of this variegated education face, there is a noticeable difference in the government owned vis a vis private academic institutions. This is more noticeable in the lower levels of academia. Besides the uneven and in most cases hard to define remuneration in private schools the government owned are also riddled with numerous teacher strikes. On numerous occasions it has been a contentious issue that has seen students in government schools going without classes as those in private institutions benefit, this however doesn't make the private institutions ones the perfect benchmarks!
