This process allows for something thought to be broken to in fact be transformed into something new. This artistic expression celebrates the flaws and imperfections and some maybe even argue, improves upon what once was. The Shattered Psyche Anthology is a wonderful expression of the Kintsugi concept. The artists take the broken and shattered pieces of their psyche and mend them beautifully back together in art form. Metaphorically lacing the world within their mind together with the tangible world of art right in front of the viewer. The artists allegorically mold what's shattered into something whole and exciting. The art here is striking and stunning and the book is with its weight in gold. ~Joe Mykut, author of Beautiful Boy
Autorenporträt
Marie Moldovan is a Saskatchewan native and Ontario immigrant. Some would call them a reverse snowbird, who feels most comfortable surrounded by snowcapped mountains.Nomadic by nature, they are multifaceted and have mastered many skills. They dub themself a jack of many trades and master of some. However, because they have acquired a plethora of diplomas spanning the educational spectrum, their mother (May she be at peace) on the contrary would call them a professional student. They accredit their adaptability to the training they received as a Canadian Forces medic, and their artistic ability to my family. Both attributes have aided them along their journey from points of homelessness and despair to place of stability and optimism they have arrived at today. In 2018, they were diagnosed with service-related PTSD, and within the same breath of time became a widow.Unresolved trauma, and the loss of their husband caused them to skirt the edges of insanity. Faced with losing complete touch with reality, they returned to writing and art.In a sense writing and art saved their life, at least that's they claim. Fortunately, for the world, their choice to embrace creation has led them to captain a new life as a publisher, illustrator, writer and artist. Marie is the author of 20 years of Winter and currently runs the publication organization, aptly named, I Ain't Your Marionette. Their poetry book is an autobiographical collection of poetry and art. They published it in hopes to make a way for others who have suffered similar traumas to feel safe knowing that they are not alone nor are they to blame for their experiences. 20 Years of Winter is Marie's source of empowerment offered to those victims to stand up to their perpetrators and to speak out against victim shaming.
