When young social worker Rachel Thomas accepts her first "real" job at Salter's Point Regional in Washington State, she expects to be working around crazy people. After all, the hospital was once a notorious insane asylum. Imagine her surprise when she realizes that many of the crazies at Salter's Point are the professional misfits who are supposed to be caring for the patients. It seems they are running the hospital and creating mayhem of their own. A manic attorney, a sex-crazed psychiatrist, and a drunk therapist are a few of the many professionals with blurred lines of insanity.Rachel tries desperately to fit in while still caring for her patients. Despite feeling like "a fly in the wrong soup," she succeeds in doing her job. Until tragedy strikes and turns her world upside down.Inspired by true events in a psychiatric hospital in the 1980s. The author, Anita Dixon Thomas, has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for thirty-seven years. She is also the author of Whiskey and Merlot A Love Story. She currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
