Richard Haiduck is a student and practitioner of retirement. He has explored the meaningful jour-neys taken by retirees, as the basis for Shifting Gears. In addition to writing his book, his retire-ment includes volunteering, biking, reading and time with family and friends. He and his wife of 52 years live in the redwoods in the hills above Woodside California.
