Countless change-makers significantly impact their own communities and regions around the world on a daily basis. Shifting Lines brings together the stories of ten such inspiring individuals working in social, humanitarian, development and peace-related fields. Their voices, while each echoing in their own right, all convey a dedication, determination, perseverance, passion and energy that is both thought-provoking and powerful. Most often their stories go unheard. And yet their voices are vital for transforming our today into a positive tomorrow. With Shifting Lines and our previous book, A Definition of Snow, published in 2019, VOICE aims at projecting their voices and making them available to readers all over the world."Just like A Definition of Snow, Shifting Lines is more than a book, it is a union of voices calling out for responsibility, positive change, humanity, sustainability, and ultimately, a better world for everyone!"-Golda Poni, South Sudan"Books in Baskets is my little voice in education, an echo that will be audible one day across the African continent."-Wendi Njeri, Kenya"The day will come when we will finally be able to say that no one on earth will die from preventable diseases. We, as entrepreneurs, build start-ups because we see huge gaps in the system. Problems that if we, together, don't solve, no one else will."-José Zea and Laura Velásquez, Colombia"I had zero resources, but I had a plan."-Akinyi Awora, Kenya
