Known for his innovative approach to materials and designs, Ban also regularly comes to the aid of disaster victims and refugees by designing temporary shelters that are typically made from inexpensive and recyclable paper tubes. His projects include a temporary school after the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, shelters after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, and a church in New Zealand after the 2011 Christchurch earthquake. Isadoro Saturno is a Venezuelan poet, editor, and children’s literature author who lives in Miami. His 2018 book for children, Conejo y Conejo (Ediciones Ekaré), won the Banco del Libro’s Best Book for Children prize, was recommended in the 2020 IBBY list, and was translated into Chinese in 2020. His poems and short stories are published in anthologies across the globe. His latest book, Dear Parent or Guardian, will be published by Ugly Ducking Presse (New York, 2023). Stefano Di Cristofaro is an award-winning illustrator. He has illustrated the children’s books Conejo y conejo, Guachipira va de viaje, and La Sayona y otros cuentos de espantos. Conejo y conejo was awarded the 2019 People's Choice Award from the Golden Pinwheel Young Illustrators Competition at the Shanghai International Children's Book Fair and a 2019 Best Children's Books by Banco del Libro. Guachipira va de viaje was selected as one of the 2017 White Ravens books by the Internationale Jugendbibliothek (International Youth Library) in Munich.
